Wow! I certainly did not go into this thinking I was going to enjoy it at all. I was pleasantly surprised at how much fun Trolls is. There were tons of laughs and even some touching moments throughout. That ‘True Colors’ scene, beautiful! There are some great musical numbers that were just plain colourful fun. It’s a cute movie that certainly has it’s weird moments, but they only add to the enjoyment. Trolls reminded me of those classic animated films from the late 80’s early 90’s… with updated humour of course. It also doesn’t feel “ADD” like so many animated films seem to be lately… avoid Storks!
Trolls has a sweet simple story… about those ugly little creepy troll toys that everyone remembers as a kid, but did anyone actually play with these? I was shocked that anyone would want to make a film based on these hideous things let alone watch one. Instead, this movie won me over fully and I saw these troll characters in a whole new light. The story isn’t anything new that we haven’t seen, but it would be hard to not let it win you over. It’s one of the better animated films I’ve seen this year and it’s a movie that will put a smile on your face… and who doesn’t want that. Give it a chance!
